Born May 11, 1894 in Carthage, she had resided in the area her lifetime. She was married to D. C. Hodkin, June 14, 1914, in Girard, Kan. He preceded her in death February 1961.
She was a member of Fairview Christian Church, a longtime member of Rebekah Lodge and Royal Neighbors and an active member of the Pythian Sisters.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Hamilton, and Mrs. Dorothy Means, both of Joplin route 1; two grandchildren, Mrs. Christine Ogden, Route 5, and David W. Hamilton, Joplin Route 1, and four great-grandchildren. A son, Denzil Hodkin preceded her in death in 1950.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Ulmer Funeral Home. Richard Thayer will officiate. Burial will be in Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
