He was proceeded in death by his father, William Isaac Davis, and his mother, Elvira Gunter-Davis, of Beckley W.Va.; his brothers Charles Davis, Calvin Davis and John William Davis; and his sisters Ila Davis, Francis Davis and Violet Davis.
He is survived by his sisters Margaret Davis-Leitel of Dubois, Pa., and Mary Ann Davis-Bava of Beckley. He is also survived by his wife of 52 years Delores Jean Griffith-Davis; son Randall Davis and wife, Becky Davis, of Huntington; daughter Lana Davis of North Carolina, daughter Deanna Davis-Hall and husband, David Hall, of Columbus, Ohio, and four grandchildren Kelly (Davis) Rutherford and her husband, Billy Rutherford, Charlie Davis (both of Huntington), Kai Hall and Gyasi Hall (both of Columbus).
Jack moved to Huntington with his new bride in 1953, where they built their new life together. They raised their children, were involved in their local community and attended church regularly. Jack was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII, a member of the Masons # 52 AM FM, and was a member of the Kenova United Methodist Church. During his life, he served as a Sunday School teacher and deacon, was a midget league football coach and lobbied for the creation of Westmoreland Park. Jack always had a passion for gospel music, telling a joke and, in later years, golfing. Jack was a retired project manager of 30 years in the federal government.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in honor of Jack's commitment and service to God can be made to the Kenova United Methodist Church's Music Program. He will be buried at the Tom Lilly Cemetery in Ghent, W.Va.
