Mary was the daughter of C Philip Hunt and Hannah and was born near Morganstown, WV. She married John Waychoff on 07 APR 1859 in PA. They were the parents of 12 children: Morgan (1860), Mary, John (1863), Lewis, Frank, William, Albert V (1872-1873), George, Oliver, Nettie, Samuel S (1880-1973), and Alonzo.

Coon Rapids Enterprise - Friday, May 20th, 1921 - Mrs. Catherine Hunt Waychoff was
born in West Virginia, September 1, 1839, and died near Dedham, Iowa, May 13, 1921, in her 82nd year.

In early childhood she moved to Green county, Pennsylvania. She was united in marriage to John D. Waychoff in June, 1859. In the spring of 1873 she moved to Benton county, Iowa, and ten years afterward came to Audubon county.

She was the mother of twelve children, ten of whom are living, two having died in infancy. The living ones are : Morgan J., of Lake Park, Iowa; Mary E. Hartman, Fostoria, Iowa; John E., whereabouts unknown; Lewis J., of Watkins, Iowa; Frank C. and William J. and Samuel of Center, Colorado; Geo. H. and Oliver of Dedham, Iowa; and Alonzo of New Milford, New Jersey.

Albert and Nettie May died in infancy.

There are two sister s living - Mary Waychoff of Blairstown, Iowa, and Alcinda of Whitley, Penn. The two brothers, Clark and Lewis Hunt, both live at Whitely, Penn. In her young womanhood she united with the Baptist church but these last years she was a member of the Methodist church here in Dedham where she has lived since 1903.
