Gladys Alexander Nail, 88, died Monday, May 9, 2005, at Tattnall Community Hospital. The Tattnall County native had lived in Reidsville all her life. She was a nurse with Dr. Jelks' Clinic for many years. She served as a Pink Lady at Tattnall Memorial Hospital, and was a member of the Reidsville VFW Auxiliary. She was a member of Reidsville Baptist Church and the J.O.Y. Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow E. Nail; her parents, Bill and Bessie Alexander; a sister, Marlene Scott; and five brothers: Carlos Alexander, Lent Alexander, Dolvin Alexander, S. P. Alexander, and Fred Alexander.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth Ann and Jack Hill of Reidsville and Karen and Stan Hill of Richmond Hill; a son and daughter-in-law, Woody and Alice Nail of Charlotte, North Carolina; four granddaughters: Michelle Pfeiffer, Amy McGee, Dawn Kullberg, and Jennifer Stanger; three grandsons: Matt Hill, Lance Hill, and Sean Hill; six great-great granddaughters; one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 12, at Reidsville Baptist Church. Interment was held in Reidsville City Cemetery.
