Margaret was the only one of her 6 brothers and sisters to be born in America. Her father, Jeremiah (Darb) Sullivan, from County Cork, Ireland, was hired to work in Massachusettes to work on a tunnel. Shortly after her parents arrival she was born. The stay was short and Jeremiah became disenchanted with America and returned to County Cork Ireland where the rest of their children were born. After Margaret's younger sister immigrated to Boston, she decided to join her since she still retained her American citizenship. They eventually relocated to Butte, Silver Bow county, Montana before 1909. There she and her sister met James and Michael Sheehan who were brothers. Within a short time all were married. She and James had three children. After James' death she continued to live in Walkerville near Butte. In August of 1941 she moved to Los Angeles to live with her son Joseph and his family. There she and her sister were reunited after many years living apart. Her granddaughter, Timmie, fondly remembers Margaret and Mary walking to what is now MacArthur Park and sitting on a bench just enjoying each other's company. Less then a year later Margaret became quite ill and died. She is buried next to her beloved sister Mary Frances Sullivan Sheehan.
