A fatal accident occurred on the early south bound passenger train No. 132 Wednesday morning. The train was in charge of conductor Douglas Naney, engineer R. E. Weller, and fireman Harry N. Burgess.

The train had left Cisne on time and when about one and one half mile south of Cisne, while going at a slow rate, the engine plunged into a ditch.

Mr. Burgess was pinned under the engine and killed instantly, belng horribly burned with escaping steam and hot water. Engineer Weller was slightly shook up, but fortunately escaped any serious Injuries, no one else being hurt. At this writing no cause for the sudden accident is known.

Mr. Burgess leaves a wife and one child. His mother and twin sisters, all of whom live in Flora.

He was a young man of excellent habits and besides his family leaves many friends in Flora, who will deplore his untimely death.
