Frank was the son of Frank & Bridget Farley Bartley, born in Canada Oct 1, 1950 one record, Oct 1, 1954 and on the head stone the year 1859.
He married Catherine McFadden July 4, 1882 in Minnesota. They had eleven children.

FRANK BARTLEY DEAD

Frank Bartley, brother of Mrs. J. L. Powers of this village and a former resident of Carver county, died at his home four miles south of Rolla, N. D., on Friday, Nov. 5, 1926. Mrs. Powers had been notified of his serious illness and departed for the Bartley home and arrived there just as her brother was passing away. Besides his family the deceased is survived by one brother, Steve of Appleton, three sisters, Mrs. Powers of Young America, Mrs. Katherine Etzel of St. Paul, and Mrs. Anna Finnegan of Minneapolis. The following account of the passing of Mr. Bartley appeared in the Turtle Mountain Star, Rolla, N. D., of November 11, 1926:
F. Bartley passed away at his farm home four miles south of Rolla Friday, November 5, 1926, from paralysis. Funeral services were conducted the Catholic church in Rolla Wednesday and burial made in the Catholic cemetery at St. John.
Mr. Bartley homesteaded on the place in Oxford township in 1893 and has lived there continuously since.
He was born in Port Hope, Canada, in 1855, moved to Minnesota with his parents a few years later, and resided there until he came to North Dakota.
Catherine McFadden and F. Bartley were united in marriage in Minnesota in 1882. To this union were born eleven children, all of whom are living. They are Edward and Edith, at home; Mrs. Stencil Jesonoski, Cando; Nellie, Tacoma, Wash.; Mrs. Finton H. Jones, Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. T.F. Brown and Miss Edna, Everett, Wash.; Frank of St. John; Mrs. L. P. Keefe of Los Angeles. Calif.; John of Big River, Canada, and Sadie of Minneapolis, Minn.
While not feeling well for the past year Mr. Bartley's death was entirely unexpected. The end came suddenly and not all of the children, relatives and friends were able to come to Rolla for the funeral services.
Mr. Bartley was on of the early settlers in the county and always worked for the betterment of the territory. he made a success of the farming business and saw the county develop from bleak prairie into a well settled farming community. He and Mrs. Bartley had the great satisfaction and pleasure of rearing a large family of boys and girls to successful manhood and womanhood, and no doud he was prepared to return to his creator with joy in his soul.
