Welford Beal Bruce Sr. passed away peacefully Thursday, August 19, 2004. Born in Bowling Green, January 30, 1915, he served in the army and ran several businesses and farms. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Lee Norstrom Bruce; and five sisters. He is survived by one sister, Bernice Wood of Doswell; two daughters, Francis Patch and husband, Sumner of Tacoma Park, Maryland, and Barbara Treakle and husband, Doug of Mechanicsville; and one son, Welford Bruce Jr. and wife, Beverly (Wilson) of Hanover. He is glorified by four granddaughters, two grandsons, two great-granddaughters, and two great-grandsons.
