MRS. CHELCY L. NEWMAN DIES; RITES INCOMPLETE
Mrs. Clara Newman, 60, died at 1:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at her home, 913 South Grant street, following a lingering illness. She was the wife of Chelcy L. Newman.
A resident of Muncie for 48 years, Mrs. Newman came here from Anderson. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Surviving besides the husband are two daughters, Mrs. Walter Freeman and Mrs. John Davis; three sons, Paul, Charles and Donavon, all of Muncie; three brothers, Walter Perkins of Parker, Charlie Perkins of Indianapolis, and Harry Earl of McCordville; three half sisters and two half brothers, all of Fort Wayne and 12 grandchildren.
The body was removed to the Piepho funeral home where friends may call after 2 o'clock Friday afternoon. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the funeral home. Funeral arrangements are to be completed today.
