Graveside service for David Norwood Sr., 66, of Decatur will be Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Hartselle City Cemetery with the Rev. Rob Jackson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Norwood, who died Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at Decatur General Hospital, was born April 20, 1942, in Morgan County to Silas Nevon Norwood and Maybell Therman Norwood. David was co-owner of Simply Delicious Bakery with his late wife, Frances Norwood. He was a graduate of Morgan County High School where he played under head football coach J.P. Cain. He was a loving father and husband, and a devoted Christian. His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include his son, David Howell Norwood Jr. (Tracy) of Decatur; daughter, Stacey Leigh Norwood of Birmingham; brother, Ronnie Norwood of Flomaton; and sister, Mary Reeves of Hartselle.
Pallbearers will be Austin High School's senior football players.
In lieu of flowers, it is the family's request that donations be made to the Salvation Army of Decatur, P.O. Box 807, Decatur, AL 35602.
