Auburn Girl PASSES Away
After an illness which has extended over a period of several years. Miss Clara Burton passed away Monday at her home in Auburn. She has been afflicted fro several years with heart trouble, but not until the last few weeks has her condition become serious. About a month ago she was in Afton and when it was announced that she had passed on, it was a shock to her friends and relatives.
Clara is the daughter of Mr and Mrs. c.F. Burton of auburn. She was born August 10 1914 in Afton. She is a graduate of the Star Valley High School and during her grade school and high school she was an outstanding student in all her classes. She was very talented in music, and played the piano in the various ward organizations as long as her health permitted. It was truly said of her that she has accomplished more in her brief span of life than some people accomplish in a long life. Her pleasant smile and pleasing personality will long be remembered.
Funeral services were held at Auburn at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, 1940. Bp. Lloyd Hyde had charge of the services.
The processional music was played by Stella Orton.
The choir sang "On My Father"
Invocation was given by Leslie Hillyard
Duet "Ill Go Where You Want Me To Go" was sung by Mr and Mrs. W. I. Gardner, assisted at the piano by Elona Hillyard.
Verses composed by Viola Miller were read by Elona Hillyard.
Caro Walton was the first speaker. He said she had merited her reward through her long, patient suffering.
