Mary D. Shuffitt, 73, of Rushville passed away at 10:36 AM Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Home. Mary was born September 27, 1935 in Jamestown, KY. to George Bunch and Dora (Appleby). She married Riley J. Long March 18, 1954 and he preceded her in death in 1979. She then married Frank C. Shuffitt June 16, 1990 and he survives.
Mary had worked as a nurse's aid at the Marion County Home for 13 years.
She leaves behind Husband; Frank of Rushville IN, 5 Sons; Kenneth E. Long of Edinburg, IN., Lonnie R. Long (and wife, Myra) of Rushville IN., Ronnie K. Long of New Whiteland, IN., Junior Long of Liberty, KY. and Larry Long of Lexington, KY., 7 Daughters; Mrs. Ronnie(Barbara) Camden of New Whiteland, IN., Mrs. James(Donna) Martin of Hopkinsville, KY., Teresa Elkins of Hopkinsville, KY., Karen Noe of Liberty, KY., Phyllis Austin of Connersville, IN., Mrs. Laura McNabb of Rushville, IN. and Mary Lee Wilson of Liberty, KY. 3 Brothers; Randy, Ricky and Gary Bunch all of Connersville, IN.. 5 Sisters; Mrs. Leroy (Phyllis) Crawley of Falmouth, IN., Gail Bowman of Connersville IN., Tina Fraley of Connersville IN.,Mrs. Larry(Sue) Shedd of Connersville IN. and Vicky Bunch of Connersville, IN. Survivors include her husband, Frank Shuffitt of Rushville; five sons, Kenneth E. Long of Edinburgh, Lonnie R. (Myra) Long of Rushville, Ronnie K. Long of New Whiteland, Junior Long of Liberty, Ky., and Larry Long of Lexington, Ky.; seven daughters, Barbara (Ron) Camden of New Whiteland, Donna (James) Martin and Teresa Elkins, both of Hopkinsville, Ky., Karen Noe of Liberty, Phyllis Austin of Connersville, Laura McNabb of Rushville, and Mary Lee Wilson of Liberty; three brothers, Randy, Ricky and Gary Bunch all of Connersville; five sisters, Phyllis (Leroy) Crawley of Falmouth, Gail Bowman, Tina Fraley, Sue (Larry) Shedd and Vicky Bunch, all of Connersville; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a husband, Riley J. Long; a son; a daughter; four brothers; a sister; and a grandchild.
The Rev. Ross Littlepage will conduct a funeral service at 10 a.m. Thursday at Moster Mortuary, 334 N. Main St., Rushville. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Asbury Cemetery in Rushville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Decatur County through the funeral home.
