OBIT: The Paris News, 23 May, 1954.

Mrs. L. L. Aulgur, 94. died Saturday at 5:30 a.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Emma Hope, where she lived.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Gene Roden & Sons chapel, by the Rev. James S. Riley of First Baptist Church of which Mrs. Aulgur was a member. Burial will be made at Hopewell.

The former Miss Amanda Elizabeth Bray, Mrs. Aulgur was born in Arkansas, May 1, 1860, daughter of the the late Henry Calvin Bray and May (Mary?) (Harmon) Bray.

Her husband died in July, 1952, and survivors, besides her daughter are a sister, Mrs. W. B. Mayo, Whitesboro; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Amanda's father, Henry Calvin Bray, was a POW in the Civil War and died of smallpox while incarcerated. His widow, Mary Ann Harmon Bray, married Henry's brother, Mathew W. Bray and raised her as his own daughter.
