Robert Curtis "Curt" Agner, 71, of 250 Peach Orchard Road died Thursday at Rowan Memorial Hospital. A native of Rowan County, he was a retired employee of Cannon Mills Plant 7 and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Samuel C. Hart American Legion, the Salisbury Moose Lodge, and the Senior Friendship Club at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Surviving are wife, Ruth Koon Agner; stepsons, Jerry Thompson of Largo, Fla., Terry W. Beeker of Salisbury; brother, Carl J. Agner of Salisbury; sisters, Mrs. Ruby Basinger, Mrs. Louise Goodman, Mrs. Rachel Wagoner, all of Salisbury, Mrs. Katherine Earnhardt of Rockwell; two grandchildren. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Providence United Methodist Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be in the church cemetery.The family will be at Summersett Funeral Home 7-8:30 p.m. today.
