Glenn LeRoy Sponable, 54 years old, Joplin route 2, died at 4:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the University hospital in Kansas City, Kan., where he had been a patient two days. Mr. Sponable had suffered from leukemia, a blood disease, for the last three months. Born December 16, 1901, at Alba, he had lived in Joplin most of his life. He was employed at the old Joplin National Bank for 19 years, but for the last eight years he had been employed as an office clerk at the Dan Stanley Motor Company. He was a member of the Methodist church, Joplin lodge No. 335, A. F. & A. M., and Knights Templar. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Leona Sponable; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Lanyon of Warrensburg, Mo., and two brothers, Claude Sponable of Topeka, Kan., and Raymond Sponable of St. Louis. Funeral arrangements will bwe announced by the Steve Parker Mortuary.
