After Illness of One Month.
Spinal Neningitis last Saturday afternoon at 3 o.clock ended the suffering of Hyrum Blacker, who had been ill exactly one month. At first he suffered from pleurisy which later changed to pneumonia and after the doctors succeeded in breaking the fever, the first mentioned trouble developed which was the direct cause of death.
Hyrum Blacker was born in Almy Wyoming, November 22, 1891. He came to Star Valley with his parents when but six years of age, and since that time this place has been his home. On January 23, 1916 he was united in marriage to Mis Elva Cazier and to this union have been born three children, two of whom survive and are left fatherless by his untimely death.
Hyrum was known for his jolliness and good nature, and was always very popular with the younger set. He was an industrious young man of good habits, and was beloved by all who knew him.
He leaves aside from his wife and two children, to mourn his loss four brothers and five sisters, all of whom were present at the funeral with the exception of William, who was called home to Rupert on the day of Mr. Blacker's death.
Funeral services were held in the North Ward chapel Tuesday
afternoon, the speakers being Roy Harrison, Adelbert Wilde, Bp. Taysom and Ivan Gardner. The large cortège was a but mute evidence of the esteem in which he was held by the local people.
