Hattie Melinda Cornell Tucker was born August 1, 1844 in Jamestown, New York to Henry and Louisa Cornell.

She married Butler Sprague in 1862. Their marriage was short lived as he was killed while serving in the Civil War.

She then married William Edwin Tucker on April 2, 1864 in Madison, Dane, Wisconsin.
From this union was born five sons: William Edward, Frank Abram, Arthur Levi, Clarence Everton and Frederick Leroy;
and seven daughters: Pearl Estella, Jennie Adeline, Lulu Augusta, Grace Edna, Lillie, Linnie and Birdie Avis.

She passed from this life on January 26, 1907 at the age of 62 in Huron, Izard, Arkansas and was buried at Corinth Cemetery.
