EMORY HOLMAN DARST was born in St. Charles County, Missouri, January 26, 1814. Mr. Darst was a member of Captain John Austin's Company at the battle of Velasco. And although he did not fight at the Battle of San Jacinto , he was detailed to guard the baggage at the camp opposite Harrisburg. Mr. Darst's mother Tabitha Boone Callaway, was the grand daughter of Daniel Boone. Emory was my 3rd cousin.
