James Claude Acord, 71, passed away on January 22, 1990 at his home.

Born March 1, 1918 in Spring City, Utah to Henry Luster and Maud Blain Acord. Married Evelynn Nielsen on April 21, 1941 in Manti, Utah; marriage later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Member LDS Church. Licensed building contractor. Avid fisherman and hunter. Loved all outdoor sports. Served as city councilman, president of Ephraim Sport Club, member Elks Lodge of Provo.

Survived by wife, Spring City; two daughters and sons-in-law, David and Gayle Evans, Park City; Gary and Jeanette Gibbons, Ogden; seven grandchildren; sister, Beth Hansen, brother, Robert Acord, both of Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by a daughter, Claudia Hansen, brother, Ferd, three sisters, Ila Williams, Murl Jensen, Virginia Tucker.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 25, 1990 at 12 noon at the Spring City Ward Chapel. Friends may call at Ursenbach Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday at the Ward Chapel one hour prior to services.
Interment: Spring City Cemetery.
