Husband Robert Leona Rose Pursley, 74, known to most as Lee, Lonedell, was born in Maxville, Mo., the daughter of the late William Bender and Augusta Bender, nee Steinle. In Nove. of 1936, she was united in marriage to Robert Donald Pursley. Lee died in St. Louis on Aug. 25, 1992. She is survived by her husband, Bob Pursley, Lonedell;two sons, Glenn Pursley, Luebbering, and Ronald Pursley, Pacific; two daughters, LaVeta Bonney and husband, Mike, House Springs and Sandi Scott and husband Harold, Ormond Beach FL.; one brother, Edward Bender and wife Betty of Fenton; one brother-in-law,Eugene Pursley and wife, Alma of Union; twos sisters-in-law, Etta Bender, Fenton, and Kay Pursley, St. Clair; 16 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatvies and many friens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two infant sons; by one brother, William Bender; by one step-brother, Otto Bender; and by one step-sister, Dorothy Naylor. Lee has lived in Lonedell for most of her lifetime. For many, many years, she was employed by the Deb Shoe Co. in St. Clair as a top stitcher and was also a shop steward. She also helped her husband manage a business in Lonedell for many years. At one time, Lee had served as the Democratic Committee woman in this area. She had a great love for animals and one of her favorite pastimes was caring for them. Nothing meant more to Lee than spending time with her children and grandchildren an each was very special to her. The love and events she and Bob have shared in their 55 years of marriage and the many wonderful times hared with their children will be memories never forgotten. Funerl services were held Sat. August 29, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, with Father John McIntee officiating. Interment was in Luebbering Citizens Community Cemetery, Grubville.
