According to family sources: her husband, George Henry Boger Sr., died in Atlanta during the Civil War due to some illness and not due to any battle. Caroline took a horse and wagon to Atlanta and picked up his body. Coming back his decaying body smelled so bad that they buried him in Kings Mountain. Some of the Boger family has visited his grave in Kings Mountain, but the location of the was not recorded.
