Amanda J. Sill, daughter of Zachariah and Caroline Sill was born July 9, 1848 in Pennsylvania. She later lived in Illinois and received her education in Bureau County Schools.

Feb. 7, 1865 she was united in marriage to Robert Adams. In the fall of 1873 she emigrated to this prairie country with her husband and three children. They homesteaded 160 acres of land in Merrick County.

To this happy union nine children were born. She is survived by three sons and three daughters, Nora, wife of M. E. Prutsman of Long Beach, California, Howard Grant of Mountain Home, Idaho, Nellie Florence, wife of O. E. Burton of Palmer, Evaline, wife of F. E. Wymer of Palmer, Alvin Ward, of Kane, Wyoming, and Elmer S. of Cr??pton, California.

Mrs. Adams has two brothers, John Sill of Lincoln, and Elmer S. of Denver, Colorado, two sisters, Mrs. F. E. Evans and Mrs. B. F. Owens of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Peter Davies, 1:30 pm. July 6th at the Christian church at Palmer. Interment being at Central City on the family lot by the side of her husband.
