She married Robert Lawrence Cates on December 24, 1931, in Navarro County, Texas, and they were the parents of Sandra Lee (Sandy), Ronald Lawrence (Ronny), and Daniel Glen (Danny) Cates.
Dee's parents are buried in San Saba City Cemetery, San Saba, Texas.
