Eleanor was a graduate of Madera High School and Heald Four C's Business College.
She and her husband Elbert built and operated KXQR FM Radio, operated a Muzak franchise, and built and operated a transmitter and tower site on Bald Mountain.
Eleanor and her husband Elbert loved to travel, and took many wonderful trips all across the country.
Eleanor loved to research the family history, and to garden.
She was active in the PTA, and with her sons Cub Scout and Boy Scout troops.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandma, and was an inspiration to all of her family. She will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank the staff of Horizon Health and Kaiser Permanente Medical Center for their compassionate care of Eleanor during these difficult last few weeks.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her beloved husband Elbert after 55 years of marriage; by her parents, Martha and Henry Coulthard; her brother Benton and his wife Vernal; and sister, Annabel Pitman and her husband Willard, all of Madera.
She is survived by her son Scott and his wife Linda of Fresno; son James of Colorado; son Allan and his wife Karen of Prather; grandchildren Scott of Tollhouse, Matthew and his wife Lisa of Tacoma, Wa., Kristi of Fresno, Ryan of Irvine, Dustin of Washington, D.C.; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel on Thursday, November 13, 2008, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel on Friday, November 14, 2008, at 11:00 a.m., with an interment to follow at Belmont Memorial Park.
A luncheon will be held following the services for family and friends in Eleanor's life.
Remembrances in Eleanor's name may be made to the Poverello House, or the Marjoree Mason Center.
