John Robert was born at Barney, Arkansas April 12,1876. Childhood unknown but I'am sure he worked hard as he grew into manhood. Married Willie May Veazy on Sept 21,1902. All of the Cummings family members went from farm to farm,orchards to orchards picking and pulling anything in season to make money. John Robert would hire out to other farmers in Ark to plow their land behind horses and mules. John worked for F. River lumber company near Bigelow Ar, he rode the new cut logs down the river to the sawmill. John was a member of the Spanish American War.
