Mrs. Dale Dillard, 93, of Temple passed away Wed., Sept 15, 2010. Services were entrusted to Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Temple and were at 11:00 am Monday at Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple. Visitation was 3:00 to 5:00 pm Sunday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home.

Mr. and Mrs. Dillard were the owners of the former Dietz & Dillard Optical which was the first optical and contact lens business in Temple. She was a member of Ave T. Church of Christ, the Bud and Blossom Garden Club, The Temple Federated Club, and a member of the John, Steve,and Tom Elles Family Reunion group.

She is preceded in death by her husband Hobart Dillard, a daughter Taddie Shaw, parents Joseph F Stanecek and Marie A
Elles Stanecek, a sister, Mary Spicer, granddaughter Laura Preston, and great-grandson Joshua Preston

Hobart and Dale were married April 1, 1950

Mrs. Dillard graduated from Temple High School and in 1935 was active in tennis, pep squad, choral club and home economics.
She also attended Mary Hardin Baylor College.

She was a charter member of and on the Board of Directors of the Contact Lens Society of Texas.
