Carrie E Swyers, wife of Jess Swyers of Hawthorn, died of euremic poison and peritonitis in the Brookville Hospital, Tuesday, November 24, 1931, aged 35 years, 10 months and 18 days. She was taken to the hospital on Sunday preceding her death but was too weak to undergo an operation.

Deceased was a daughter of Benjamin and Amanda (Hankey) Himes and was born at Oak Ridge on January 8, 1896. She was united in marriage eleven years ago to Jesse Swyers and to this union were born four children, all of whom survive, namely, Helen, Ralph, Jane and Louise. She is also survived by her husband and her mother and by three sisters and five brothers.

Mrs Swyers was a member of the Evangelical church and was a most estimable lady. Mr and Mrs Swyers lived at Corry, Pa., for five years, but just recently returned to their former home at Hawthorn.

Funeral services will be held in the Paradise church on this Thursday at 2:00 pm and will be conducted by Rev. Mankamyer; after which interment under the direction of S F Reitz will be made in the Paradise cemetery.
