Alonzo Ham was born June 16th, 1826 in Greene County, New York. Died at his late home in Blue Rapids, Kansas November 27th, 1904; aged 78 years, 5 months and 11 days. He was married to Emma Clark September 28th, 1844 who departed this life May 18th, 1886. To this union were born eight children, two of whom only are living at this time, W. L. Ham of Leavenworth and Daniel Clark of this place. Mr. Ham was married to Mrs. Lettie Orr, who with the two sons and grand children and many loved ones and friends remain to mourn the death of a kind husband, father and friend. In early life Mr. Ham united with the Christian Church, but since coming to the west affiliated with the Methodist Episcopal Church. Funeral services were held Monday, conducted by Rev. F. W. Ewan. May of Mr. Ham's comrades of the G.A.R. were present. The burial was on Elm Creek.
