Great Grandmother Estella's obituary reads:
WATSEKA - Mrs Estella Longshore, 92, a resident of 107 Locust St. for the past 46 years, died at 4:25 a.m. Friday (Dec 16, 1960) at her home following an illness of two and a half years.
Born Oct. 8, 1868 in Ash Grove Township, she was the daughter of Vinal S and Sarah Haworth Aye. She married Sept 9, 1886, at Watseka to James M Longshore, who preceded her in death Feb 12, 1955.
Mrs Longshore attended Watseka schools. She was a member of the Quaker Society of Friends, Order of Eastern Star Chapter 217 and the Rebekah Lodge for the past 51 years. Her husband had been a prominent contractor in Watseka and had built many of the business buildings and homes.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs Edna Plankael and Mrs Helen McCown, both of Watseka; a son, James H of St Petersburg, FL; a brother, James H Aye of Los Angeles, CA; and, five grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Segur Funeral Home. The Rev Clyde O Watson will officiate, assisted by the Rev Walter H Teesdale, pastor of the First Methodist Church. Burial will be in the GAR Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home, where friends will be received after 1 p.m. Saturday.
