Dixie Faye Allen of Camp, Ark., daughter of the late Cleveland Theodore and Simmie Mae (Sullivant) Sutherland, was born Jan. 20, 1924, at Camp. She died Jan. 30, 2007, at the Regency Hospital in Springdale, Ark., at the age of 83.

She was united in marriage to Kenneth Franklin Allen on June 21, 1944, in Salem, and to this union three children were born. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She worked as a nurse at the Fulton County Hospital from 1962 to 2000. She was a member of the Camp Methodist Church and the Camp Community Women's Club.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Ray Allen and Gregory Wayne Allen, both of Camp; one daughter, Peggy Elaine Chamberlain of Branson, Mo.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers, Damon and R.T. Sutherland; and a sister, Vera Reynolds.

The funeral services were held on Feb. 3 at the Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem, Ark., with Pastor Paul Skinner officiating.

Interment followed in the Camp Cemetery at Camp, Ark., with arrangements being made under the direction of the Barker Funeral Home of Salem.

Pallbearers were Gary Cunningham, Seth Moore, Butch Allen, Ronnie Sutherland, Rodney Sutherland, and Gerald Cochran.

Honorary pallbearers were Larry Burk, Billy Reynolds and Dan Sutherland.
