Philomena D. Anthony, 76, Waseca, died Monday, September 25, 1978 at Waseca Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon until 9 o’clock Wednesday evening and Thursday from 8 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at Sandberg Funeral Home. Altar Society Rosary will be 4 o’clock Wednesday and parish rosary at 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Waseca, conducted by Father Kunz. Interment will be at Alma City Cemetery, Alton township.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren; Steve O‘Connell, Michael, Todd, Galen, Danny and Dale Anthony.
Philomena Foley was born September 6, 1902 in Alton Township, Waseca County, the daughter of James and Mary Foley. She was a graduate of Janesville High School and attended Mankato Teachers College and St. Theresa’s, Winona.
She married LeVerne Anthony of Alma City at Janesville in July, 1922.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Gertrude) O’Connell, Corpus Christi, Texas; six sons, James and Jerry Anthony, both of Waseca, Ernest Anthony, Faribault, Raymond Anthony, New Hartford, Iowa, Captain John Anthony, Philippine Islands, David Anthony, St. Joseph, Missouri; 23 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. John (Margaret) Sago, Fairfax, Mrs. Judd (Agnes) Grant, North Branch, Mrs. Herbert (Veronica) Laven, Mankato, and Mrs. Ann Goudy, San Francisco, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one brother, Lawrence Foley.
