August 31, 1915, pg. 4

Mrs. Margaret Feller Schad, aged 77 years, died at noon today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Galbreath, 213 Irene street, Eighth Ward, after a few days illness. She was the widow of Henry Schad, who died in Grubbtown, now the Eighth Ward, in 1888. Mr. Schad was the toll gate keeper for the Johnstown Turnpike Company near the "S" curve and some time after his death Mrs. Schad took charge of the gate there and was also in charge of the one when it was later located near the property of the late Timothy Hurt.

Mrs. Schad is survived by two sons and three daughters - Christ, living in Germany; John of McKeesport; Mrs. John Friedel, of Messenger street; Mrs. Jacob G. Nagel, of 19 Irene street, and Mrs. Mary Galbreath, mentioned above. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The late Mrs. Christ Goebert was a half sister of Mrs. Schad. The deceased was a member of Zion's German Lutheran Church. The funeral arrangements will be announced tomorrow.
