Death Notice: Edward Alvin Allen of Pleasant Creek, Lorane Route, Cottage Grove. He had been a resident of this community for the past forty years. He passed away at his home Saturday, April 29, 1961 at the age of 64. He was born July 28, 1896, in Lenore, Oklahoma. He was married to Gusta Tandy October 2, 1919 in Eugene. He was a veteran of World War I, a member of the Methodist Church, North Douglas Grange and the American Legion of Drain. He is survived by his wife, two sons; Boyd of Cottage Grove and Ralph of Gold Beach; three daughters: Clara Duncan of Cottage Grove, Eunice Lebow of Albany, Joyce Overholser of Eugene; twenty grandchildren; one brother and two sisters; Lt. Col. Harold Allen of Travis Air Force Base, California, Mrs. Elsie Puckett and Mrs. Cora Cooley of Cottage Grove. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 2, 1961at 1:30 pm in Mills Mortuary. Interment in the Lane Memorial Cemetery.
