John M Amen, son of Heinrich Amen and Mrs. Maria nee Stroh, was born 21 June 1896 in McCook, Nebraska NE and moved with his parents to Loveland in 1901.
On 24 August 1919 he married Anna Greenwald in Fort Morgan. He worked for Great Western Sugar Company and retired three years ago. He was a member of the Congregational Church, American Legion.
He died 5 Jun 1964 at the age of 67 years 11 months and 15 days.
He is survived by his wife, 2 daughters, Bernice, Mrs. Ray Milburn of Denver and Lucille, Mrs. Douglas Wellman of Craig; 3 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Jake Amen of Loveland and Henry Amen of Laramie, Wyoming; 4 sisters: Mrs. Katherine Staley of Red Cloud, Minn., Mrs. Anna Yost of McCook, Neb, Mrs. Henry Snyder of Arvada and Mrs. George Heiser of Campbell, Calif.

John M. Amen, 550 E. Ninth, died suddenly Friday noon at his home. Amen was born June 21, 1896 at McCook, Neb., and came with his parents to Loveland in 1906. He and Miss Anna Greenwald were married Aug. 24, 1919 at Fort Morgan and had since made their home here.
Amen was employed by the Great Western Sugar Co. until his retirement two years ago. He served in the armed forces in World War I and was on board ship for foreign service when the armistice was signed. He was a member of the First Congregational church and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Anna; two duaghters, Mrs. Ray Milburn of Denver and Mrs. Douglas Wellman of Meeker; three grandchildren; a brother, Jake Amen of Loveland; a sister, Mrs. Katherine Staley of Red Clouc, Neb.; a half-brother, Henry Amen of Laramie, Wyo. and two half-sisters, Mrs. Anna Yost of McCook, Neb. and Mrs. Henry Snyder of Arvada.
Funeral services will be held Monday, 2 p.m. from the Congregational church with the Rev. Walter Kranzler officiating. Interment will be in Loveland Burial park, with arrangements by Kibbey's.
