Jan, who went by "John" in America, was born in 1845 in Poland Germany. He married Zofia ("Sophia") Frydrysck (Fredrick), and they moved to America in 1880 to begin their new life. They settled in Oak Creek with other family members, and farmed for a living. They had four sons and seven daughters and raised them there. Death at Loup City.
Loup City, Oct. 17 - John Spotanski, one of the early Polish settlers of Sherman county, died at his home in this city Thursday evening in his 69th year after an illness of many months. He leaves an aged wife, and eight children, five daughters and three sons, all grown, besides a host of friends to mourn his death. Funeral services will be held today at 10 o'clock at St. Joseph's Catholic church.
