John Elvin Bennett died on November 7, 2008 at his home surrounded by loved ones.


Born March 31, 1923 to Elbert Clifton and Dora Mae Evans Bennett. He was raised in Garfield, Utah and worked for KCC for 42 years. He married Donna Leone Quayle on May 20, 1943 and later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. He was a dedicated member of the LDS Church, faithfully serving in many callings. Dad loved the Lord with all his heart and soul and family was most important in his life. The only thing he ever complained about was his earlobes. He served in the Navy during World War II on the USS Enterprise and was active with the Boy Scouts of America, earning a Silver Beaver Award.


Survived by wife, Leone; children, John, Wayne (Penny), Nancy (Dick), Susan (Jeff); 19 grandchildren, and 46 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, son, David Paul; grandson, Mark; siblings, Wilma, Beth, Thelma, David, Chloe Mary, and Nancy.


Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at the Magna Central Stake Center, 8181 West 3320 South. Family and Friends may call on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South and on Thursday from 11-11:45 a.m. at the Church.
Interment: Lake Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
