FROSTBURG - Eugene V. "Debs" Lucas, 83, formerly of the Frostburg Heights Apartments, died Monday, Aug. 10, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital. He had been a resident of the Frostburg Village Nursing Home.

Born July 4, 1915, in Frostburg, he was a son of the late William James and Anna (Winner) Lucas.

Mr. Lucas was a bartender at various clubs. He was a member of Frostburg United Methodist Church and American Legion Farrady Post 24. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Western Pacific during World War II.

Surviving are one brother, George L. Lucas, Frostburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Lawrence A. Neumark officiating.

Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap. Graveside military rites will be accorded by American Legion Farrady Post 24.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
