Obituary:
Ronald "R.C." Coleman, age 65 of Woodstock, passed away Friday, January 26, 2007, in his residence. He was born November 11, 1941, in Cable, the son of the late James W. Coleman and Gladys Hammond. R.C. served his country in the United States Army. He was employed as a truck driver for many years with Bulk Transit and previously at Goodyear in Marysville. He loved riding and working with quarter horses and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his step-daughter Kim (Matt) Ertel, his grandchildren, Corney and Shelbe Ertel all of Woodstock; his sisters Shirley Holycross of West Liberty and Nancy Hammond of Marysville; his brothers Jim (Lou) Coleman of Bellefontaine and Buddy Hammond of Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews of several generations, inclubind Bruce (Brenda) Holycross, Wayne (Mickey) Holycross, Phillip Holycross, Tracy Holycross, Beatrice Lurea Newland, Stacey Hammond, Mike Hammond and Hope (Jim) Spain, as well as many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Vicky (McCarty) Coleman. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, January 31st, 2007, in the Freshwater, McDonald and Vernon Funeral Home, North Lewisburg. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. on Thursday, February 1, 2007, in the funeral home with the Rev. Frank Summerfield officiating. Burial will follow in Woodstock Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to PAWS Animal Shelter 1535 W. U.S. Route 36, Urbana, Ohio 43078.
