Thomas Lamar Ricketts, aged 66, passed away at his home 1 1/2 miles northwest of Arcadia Friday after of an illness of several months. He was born near Logan, Ohio, a son of Francis A. and Leah (Hitchcock) Ricketts, the family moved during his younger life to Jennings County, Ind. and then to the Arcadia community where he has been a farmer. He married Delphia Pheanis in 1897. She died in 1931. To this union were born three children, who survive, Mrs. Florence Hicks of Atlanta, Floyd Ricketts of Cicero and Frank Ricketts of Atlanta. He was married in 1937 to Julia Smith who also survives. Besides the wife and chidlren, one sister, Mrs. Rosa J. Shepherd of Dupont, Indiana and four brothers, Edwin D. Ricketts, Logan, Ohio, Charles H. Ricketts, Hartsville, Wilbur Ricketts, North Vernon and William F. Ricketts of Indianapolis survive. Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the United Brethren church in Arcadia with burial in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Hinshaw Funeral Home of Sheridan.
