Luke Tebo (Thibault) was born September 05, 1848 in Constable, NY, but is listed as a one-year-old on the 1850 census for Westville, NY; died December 30, 1922 of "heart affliction" in Malone, NY. He was the son of Pierre Thibault and Adelaide Margaret Denonville. He married Catherine La Makey August 17, 1865 in Malone. He was 5' 2" tall with dark eyes and hair. The couple had 7 children, four of whom died as children (2 of measles).

His obit tells us that he attended daily mass at Notre Dame, and he was a civil war soldier who served in the Calvary under General Phil Sheridan. (His unit gave chase, when Davis fled Richmond.)

For 27 years he was employed by William Smallman on his farm and in the operation of a grist mill. He was later employed as a section foreman by the Rutland Railroad, and worked on the Northern NY division of for nine years. In the US Census for 1850, he was one year old and living in Westville, NY.

Luke enlisted as a Private in Readville, MASS on 04 January 1864, Co E 4th Reg Mass Vol. He may have enlisted a few months earlier in NY, but was dismissed as being under age. He sustained a head wound and a broken collar bone in battle and was noted for DISTINGUISHED SERVICE.
