A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 3, at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Todd Struble officiating.
Mrs. Crabtree was born in Guilford County on March 25, 1930, to the late Cecil and Inez Hanner Monnett. She retired as a manufacturing associate with Lucent Technology. Doris was an avid gardener and enjoyed taking care of others. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert M. Crabtree and Coy G. Crabtree; son, Robert R. Crabtree; daughter, Rebecca C. Toomes; sister, JoAnn Snyder; brothers, Cecil Monnett, Jr., and Dexter Monnett.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie C. Powell of Liberty; sister, Edna Flack; son-in-law, Jerry Toomes; grandchildren, Lisa Bunting, Tina Banner and husband, Ruffin, Robert J. Crabtree, Shane A. Toomes and wife, Elizabeth; great-grandchildren, Cates Banner, Keelen Banner, and Cody Crabtree.
