ARTHUR -- Dean K. Upstone, 74, of Arthur died at 12:20 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 8, 1999) at The Arthur Home.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Shrader Funeral Home, Arthur, with the Rev. Michael Johnson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Arthur Cemetery.
Mr. Upstone was born Jan. 31, 1925, in Davenport, Iowa, a son of E.L. "Doc" and Gayle Thompson Upstone. He married Allice P. Shuffett Dec. 12, 1955, in Decatur. She died in 1994.
Surviving are a daughter, Sandy Smith of Arthur; a brother, Karl T. Upstone of Gillett, Wis; a sister, Lee Scott of Arthur; and a grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son.
