Funeral This Afternoon
James H. Bryant, aged 74 years, died suddenly near Roane Friday afternoon (15 Aug 1924) and the funeral was held this afternoon at the Post Oak Church at 4 o'clock with interment in Post Oak cemetery.
The wife of the deceased died about two years ago. He is survived by a son John Bryant of the Roane community. The deceased has been a resident of this county for many years.
* Roane is located in Navarro County, Texas.
Husband of Mary Frances Smith. Mary was Born Nov. 3rd. 1847 died May 1875 in Hackneyville AL. James and Mary married on Sept.14,1871 in Al.

James Henry and his first wife Mary Frances had 3 children :
1st.Gideon Byron Bryant, Gideon's second wife was Henrietta Broadus(my Line)
2nd. Henry A. Bryant
3rd. Frances Rebecca Bryant

James Henry Bryant married his second wife, Sarah Emma Bryant,daughter of William Seaborne Bryant and Frances Jane Garrett on Dec.19,1878. I met my cousin from this line looking for my Family history on the internet and found her and went to visit her for a week. We are close cousins and friends.(Hi!!J.A.B.) She gave me the pictures of James and Emma.
James and Emma had children:
Effie,Ellie,Katie,John James,Howard,Jesse.

James Henry Bryant was my G-Grandfather.
Mary Frances Smith was my G-Grandmother.
He was the son of David Allan Bryant and Rebecca Harlan.

Gideon Byron Bryant will be my line from James Henry Bryant's first wife(Mary Frances)

John James Bryant will be my cousin JoAnn Bryant line from James Henry Bryants second wife (Sarah Emma).
