Marie Murphy Hunter, age 96, of Del City, OK, passed away on 9-27-03 at Manor Care Nursing Home. She was born in Guthrie, OK on October 26, 1906 to Tom and Pearl Murphy. She was a member of Del City Christian Church. Marie worked at Lett Rexall Drugstore for 23 years. She crocheted baby blankets many years and loved to do handcrafts. To know her was to love her, and she will be greatly missed by many friends and family. Marie was preceded it death by her parents, daughter Peggy Durham, three brothers, Pat, Glen and Bill Murphy, and one sister, Beatrice Blalock. She is survived by: 1 daughter, Jean Waggoner and husband Jim of Del City; 3 granddaughters: Sharon Burkhart and her husband Mike, Janie Shears and her husband Bob, and Cindy Sterling and her husband Tim; 1 grandson, Ron Durham and his wife Terry; 2 great-granddaughters: Heather McCarty and her husband Jason and Brooke Barnett and her husband Jason; 4 great grandsons: Jon Burkhart and his wife Sandy, Scott Burkhart, Brandon Smith, and Eric Durham and his wife Ryan; and 4 great-great-grandchildren: Hailey and Liam McCarty, Cameron Durham, and Timothy Burkhart. The services will be held at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Funeral Home Chapel at 10am, Wednesday, October 1st, with burial following at Arlington Memory Gardens.
