"George A. Biggs, 88, 312 Plum, Danville, died at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 1988, at United Samaritans Medical Center, Sager Campus, Danville. He was born May 28, 1900, in West Lebanon, the son of Fred and Ada Elkins Biggs. He was married June 16, 1951, in Crawfordsville, to Agnes Dressback, who survives.

He was retired from the C&EI Railroad after 47 years. He served in the Arm during World War I. He was a member of the Second Church of Christ and Vermilion County Amateur Radio Association.

Surviving, besides his wife, are two son, Fred E. Biggs and Charles R. Biggs, both of Danville; a niece, Kathryn Miller, Danville; three nephews, Richard Biggs, Oak Park, Illinois, Austin Biggs, Monticello, Indiana, and Robert Biggs, Bronson, Missouri; six grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a son.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday at Lakeside Funeral Chapel with David Kennedy officiating. Burial was in West Lebanon Cemetery." –Star Tribune, June 21, 1988
