Mrs. M. Y. Hutchison, one of the oldest citizens of the county, died Monday at her home two miles southeast of Ritchey, aged 74 years. She was stricken with paralysis last Friday but was conscious to the last.
Deceased was born where Pierce City now stands Sept. 20, 1844, her maiden name being Cowan. She was married to Sanford Hutchison February 20, 1868. She joined the Cumberland Presbyterian church when 16 years old and lived a consistent Christian life. Her husband died 36 years ago. The children living are: Mrs. Dora De Priest, Newtonia; Mrs. Laura Lacy, Bellville, Ark; Elmer, who lives on the home place and Dick, of Bellville, Ark. Funeral services were held Tuesday conducted by Rev. E. L. Combs of Neosho and interment made at the home place.
