L.E. "Gene" Ables passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008.
Service: 11 a.m. Thursday, Chapel of J.E. Foust Funeral Home, 523 S. Main St., Grapevine. Interment: Medlin Cemetery, Trophy Club. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Gene was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was born Dec. 3, 1932, in Terrell to James and Margie Ables who preceded him in death. His brother, James P. Ables, also preceded him in death. He worked at D/FW Airport for 33 years, and was a member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church. Gene will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
Survivors: Wife, Billie Ables; sons, William L. Ables and wife, Edrena, and James Preston Ables; daughter, Charlotte Jean Gonzales and husband, Hector; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Herbert Milton Ables and wife, Auline; sister, Bettie Davies and husband, Ray; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
