Marie Blix, 91, of New Brighton, Minnesota, and formerly of Leonard, died on Wednesday, January 8, 1997, at the New Brighton Nursing Home.
She was born December 27, 1905, in Shevlin, to Sever and Ella Aaberg. She was baptized and confirmed at the Shevlin Lutheran Church. She was united in marriage to Harry Blix on June 6, 1931, in Bemidji. Harry was owner of the Leonard Garage for many years. They moved to Leonard in 1931. Harry preceded her in death on May 21, 1973. In 1973 she moved to Bemidji and in 1989 to New Brighton.
Marie was an active and faithful member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Leonard and a member of the Ladies Aid.
Survivors include her daughter, Eunice (Lloyd) Westby of New Brighton; one brother, Ole Aaberg of Paulbo, Washington; one sister, Tina Xastoupil of Spring Valley, California; two grandsons; and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and 10 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were Saturday, January 11 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Leonard with Rev. Gary Boen officiating. Arrangements were by the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley. Interment will be at the Clearwater Lutheran Cemetery in Shevlin.
