Doris d/o Jesse Davis & Beryl Isabella (Grumbein) McFarren. Born in Hampton, Kansas and passed away in Norton,KS, at the age 72yrs 2months and 1 day.
She grew to womanhood in the McCracken, Ness City area. On July 2, 1944 she married Charles Frank Dawley in McCracken,KS. They made their home in Ness City, LaCrosse and Dighton,KS. Before moving to Norton in 1950. She was a homemaker and drove taxi services in Norton. She also worked at the hospital and the Andbe Home. Charles passed away July 11, 1995, and Doris continued to make her home in Norton.
She was involved in a CB club with her husband and they also enjoyed traveling. She enjoyed gardening, canning, arts and crafts and music, especially with her family. She enjoyed baking, which she also did as volunteer work for S.P.P.A.
Survivors include: four children and their spouses, Robert & Debra Dawley, Belvidere,NE; David & Terry Dawley, Norton,KS; Karen Brownlee, Las Vegas, NV & Jim Brownlee, Murdock, KS; Debbie & Harold Schnakenberg, Concordia,MO. Three brothers Dean & Darlene, McCracken, KS; Clayton & Doris, Great Bend, KS; Richard McFarren of Ness City, KS; One sister Yvonne & Victor Grothusen, Sherrard, Il; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grand children; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Funeral will be at 2pm Wednesday, at Enfield Funeral Home, Norton, with Rev. Jack Kersenbrock presiding. Buriel will be in Norton Cemetery.
