GRACE E. FULLER
Grace Ellen Fuller, daughter of John A. and Harriet LaFeever Farrar was born Sept. 28, 1887 at Alliance, Nebraska. She died at the Hilltop Lodge, Beloit, Ks. Sept. 19, 1974 at the age of 86 yrs. She was the last member of a family of nine children.
In her early childhood the family moved to Missouri for awhile and then later came to Kansas and settled on a farm in the Honey Creek neighborhood, southwest of Beloit. Her father delivered mail for the Star Mail route. She attended the Honey Creek rural school, which is now the "Little Red Schoolhouse".
On February 19, 1908 she was united in marriage to William E. Fuller at the home of her parents in the Honey Creek community. To this union, six children were born. William and Harold, and four that died in infancy.
For many years the family lived on a farm east of Glen Elder and the next year after the death of her husband, William, in April of 1937, Grace moved to Beloit and made her home at 809 N. Campbell. For several years, Grace helped in the home of Grace Young and Mrs. Pete Jorgensen.
Grace was a member of the First Christian church in Beloit, the CWF of the church, and just recently received a 50-year pin as a member of the Royal Neighbors of America.
She loved the daily household tasks on the farm and the outside yard and garden work. Among her many talents was that of quilting and, the spirit of neighborliness and well being it afforded. Her Christian faith was eloquently expressed in her concern for others. She was patient, had a good sense of humor, and had a deep appreciation for each person as an individual. She was a good wife and mother, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy.
In 1967 her failing health became neccessary that she enter the Jones Nursing Home. In 1972, when she required more extensive care, she was moved to Hilltop Lodge.
Grace leaves her two sons, William of Salina,and Harold and his wife, Dorothy, of Beloit;five granddaughers, Mrs. LaDonna (Clarence) Allen, Otterville, Mo.;Mrs. Kristin (Tom) Seeley, Schenectady, N.Y.; Mrs. Regina (Mike) Miller, Salina;Mrs. Janice (David) Stouffer, Salina;Mrs. Jolene(Jim) Wendell, Beloit;15 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Rev. Virgil Feerer conducted the funeral services at McDonald's Chapel on Saturday, Sept. 21, 1974. Casket bearers were Leo Abram, Fred Jorgensen, Elwart McCune, John Peterson, and Floyd Rominger. Interment was made in the Glenwood cemetery, Glen Elder.
Music was furnished by the soloist Mrs. Jay Rowh and organist, Mrs. Maurice McDonald. Caring for the flowers were Mrs. Leo Abram and Mrs. Floyd Rominger. Interment was made in Glenwood cemetery, Glen Elder.
Out of town relatives attending the services were: William Fuller, Louise Fuller, Mrs. Mike Miller,and Mr. and Mrs. David Stouffer and family, all of Salina; Lloyd Hurrell of Craig, Neb.; and Margaret Graff of Glen Elder.
